New and improved !

cLn Gaming (Cheeky Little Nipple Gaming for the rest of us!) is currently having a resurgence.

Let’s be fair – this time last year everybody was extremely excited about our first venture in to the gaming world – online streaming. And in fairness it was fairly successful! A huge Dungeons and Dragons youtube webseries which was live on twitch every time it was created, and a series of different counter strike videos – the main one reaching 44,000 in 3 days being the highlight.

After that though the company started to fade – people have other jobs, girlfriends and generally didn’t play as many games as they did before. That sucks. There is nothing worse than having real life commitments right?! We got together at different insomnia events throughout the year, 54, 55 and 56 with it culminating in the country’s largest pub quiz being won by none other than CLN! We donated a lot of money to charity that night, drank a lot of beers – almost got in a fight with a bunch of thieves and played a lot of games in to the night.

We have been playing games since last year though – we had a very competitive CS:GO team and we were streamed live on the stage for rocket league too! And the core of the group absolutely love playing games, whether that be single player or multiplayer – we are all really keen to continue as a group – as an organisation.

The new venture however is slightly different – it’s still completely about games – but let’s utilise another talent we have – our writing! It just makes sense. Whether that be a review, a random article, a guide, a comparison, an analysis about a game – it will be covered by us from now on.

I’ve just completed Halo 5 for example – instead of just taking that experience away with me to maybe tell a few friends about here and there – why not write about something within that game? The new weapons – what’s good what’s bad.. so much to write about, so much to share. We have a lot of passion for games and we are searching for a unique way to share that with the world!

So go and visit us at where our shiny new website will host new articles regularly – eventually the plan is to expand and look in to other things we enjoy – films – sports maybe – wrestling? – who knows! All we know is that we are more than excited to present the new direction in our organisation and we can’t wait for you all to read what we have to share !

cLn Gaming

So a lot has happened in 2015 so far i guess.

There was a good 14 of us at Maz’s house on new years eve. We all got together, played a lot of games, and drank a lot of booze. It is the first time we have all met up really if it’s not at our gaming tournament and we love it! It’s literally so fun and we all get on very well.

Back story complete.

A few days later i’m sitting there at work … taking calls … bored … uninspired … thinking to myself ‘what could i be doing with myself right now if i wasn’t here at work > – i could be playing video games…’ Then i decided to voice my opinion on the Whatsapp group. It turned out to be a very long text, it was quite passionate and wild – seemed like the most vague business idea ever to be fair, yet everybody seemed to agree that this was a good idea.

Well – most people that is, there is now a core of 6/7 of us, Charles, me, Ceej, Rich, Maz and Liam and we are all pretty committed on making our company work.

The company idea is to stream us playing video games and create decent content across a number of different games (at first) build a following and an online footprint on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and the main one which would be

We are only in the infancy of this company however have a couple of pages set up.

Come and check us out!

I am extremely excited at what the future may hold.. but i am not counting my chickens before i lay my eggs, i know it’s an extremely long road ahead of us if we are going to get this company off the ground.

I’ve never really been that bothered about the pro scene in Counter Strike.

When i was actually semi decent at the game – still very average – i didn’t watch any streams on Counter Strike Source. I thought the idea of watching games was extremely boring. ‘I want to play games not watch them’ – i thought to myself, how can i get better or enjoy it if i’m not playing?

What was i thinking?

In fairness though, the great angles, the excellent casting, the live crowds, the smooth sounds levels, the professional streams – was something which wasn’t the norm. In fact it was once every month a tournament would happen which would not be overly great for public viewing.

This was in 2004. Skip 10 years to 2014 and it is a whole different world. is dominating the viewing stats, and people are loving every single second of gaming footage they watch. In the world of first person shooters, it’s always been hard to follow a team based fps game on the basis that it’s actually quite boring. Add a gambling aspect in and well.. it is boring no more. You can make money (all be it in steam, not hard cash – but still can be used to buy real games so i guess for gamers there isn’t really a difference) making you feel the excitement, the rush of every single frag.

I’m torn really. Is this good for the scene? – Overwhelmingly yes, anything which gives the game i love more views, more recognition is a win in my book. The problem with all of this is – where do we go from here? I saw this in Starcraft, and unfortunately that scene is pretty much dead now, it reached such a high but crashed miserably.

Yes it’s great that CS:GO is the main game in the fps world in terms of watch ability. You have players like JW for team Fanatic with the most incredible AWP skills in the game. Then you have the extremely strong french team LDLC. some extremely good teams out there as well however, Hell Raisers, my favourite team Dignitas, Na Vi, Virtus Pro, this is adding to the watch ability also. I am watching the big tournaments which are coming around. As i type this LDLC have just beaten Na Vi to face team Fanatic in the final of the Electronic Sport World Cup final after winning 16-14. It’s these close rounds, these highly competitive games, on extremely balanced maps which are making fans come back for more and more.

Let’s be fair, if every game was 16-3 and extremely one sided, nobody would be watching – unless they were putting it on to fall asleep to. It’s fortunate we are blessed with the talent pool we have at the moment. Long may it continue, however i am cautiously optimistic as i know the gaming world can be pretty fickle when it comes to what’s the hot game and what isn’t. But if my CS:S days tell me anything, it’s that it has an extremely loyal core fan base, and a great game which still pulls people in. 5v5 shooting for 3 minute rounds may sound boring – but it couldn’t be better. Just ask 200,000 live viewers.

July 20. BLOGGING.

Random image of me with my back to the camera.

It’s 1.44am July 20, 2014 (just starting typing 1999 by accident.. if only!)

I have a few days off from my new job at the YHA (see pic)

aaaaaaaand i am going really wild on my Saturday night in! Playing games, watching films and now blogging in to the early hours of the morning. Unreal.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been active in going to the cinema often, visiting new places, new people, actually living my life again which is great – Good times !

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is an excellent film. It’s truly one of the great sequels of our time. I’ve been anti-3d for a long time, well literally since I ever watched Spy Kids 3d when i was younger. (didn’t mind it before then), and after that’s it’s been just a novelty for me. Captain America was the last time i’d seen a 3d film and i kept thinking to myself. What’s the point in this being in 3d? I’d much rather have a crisp quality image in front of me rather than a much darker image and people out of the screen – which does look good – until there is a lot of fast pace action then it looks blurry or computer animated. Maybe i notice the latter because of my gaming background.

I51 me and Iron Man hanging at the bar!

My gaming background is starting to change too. I don’t really play that many games anymore. I have 292 games on my Steam Library boasting an impressive 251 currently installed. I’m not going to sit here and lie to you all and say i’ve played every one of them because i haven’t. I have barely played any of them.

My Xbox isn’t getting played much either.. Meaning no FIFA. This is a good thing though I think. I’m not attending Insomnia 52 due to my sisters wedding, and so what am i really playing for? I don’t enjoy the game as such, i just play to win. If there is nothing to aim for, then why waste my time and play? That being said, i did have a crack at the World Cup ultimate team and was pretty successful. I’m just ready for FIFA 15. I always say this. I’m ready for the next one, sick of this one. It’s a common trend. In fact i can accurately show you a diagram to my FIFA experience over the last 5 years.

FIFA Release –

  • First 2 weeks: play constantly, extremely good at the game. TOP 500 globally
  • Next 2 weeks: Hours begin to decline, still pretty good at the game. TOP 1000 globally.
  • Next 3 months: Barely play, complain about the game not being very good, especially after patches changing it/people getting better at the game TOP 3000 globally
  • Next 3 months: Completely stop playing – bored.
  • Next 2 months: Play on and off, lose most of my games, vow never to play FIFA again.
  • Next month: I have a tournament at the end of the month?!!? CRAM IN 200 games in 2 weeks. Who needs sleep?
  • Next month: Start playing again to get myself ready for the next FIFA! Getting myself extremely excited, to the point where i cba to play any more of this FIFA installment.
  • Final month: Literally not touch FIFA as it feels dated despite the fact the new one still isn’t out yet.

It’s vaguely accurate if not entirely accurate to be fair.

I’ve noticed a lot of these blog posts rely a lot on me playing FIFA. This is the last time i am mentioning it this post.

I have been able to play some real football too, which is something I’ve shied away from in recent years. I don’t know why. I just get the urge to not play, i don’t think i’m good enough. I know i’m not great – i never was – and i never will be. But i am good enough to play at local level, I really am. But when it comes down to it I just say no, or at the very best play one game and don’t turn up again. The same appears to have happened again. I can’t help it. It is just a bit of a chore to play. It’s not fun.

When you’re 12 and you are having trials with big football clubs, it’s exciting, it’s a future, it’s an escape.

When they inevitably fall through, you just fall out with the playing game I guess. I feel as though football owes me something, and that’s a chip i’ve never been able to get off my shoulders. I love watching it sure, I will never pass up an opportunity to go and watch a game, but to play it myself.. Well. I think I can call myself semi retired / retired. At 23.

Cricket is taking over in a big way though. I’m playing for a wonderful cricket club called Jug&Glass. Now this really is playing for the minnows of Pub cricket teams. I love it, i feel a sense of responsibility, loyalty to the team, an urge to play every time the sun is out. What is with me? I used to dislike playing cricket! It’s as if football and cricket just decided to swap one day.

Ted Lander with a glorious shot. We were 48 All Out.

It’s been great! I’ve been playing OK, nothing spectacular. A few wickets here and there, but mostly been impressing with the bat, hitting 4’s and 6’s.. Which makes a change because for a long time i couldn’t even reach the boundary rope..

One of the biggest differences in Cricket is that it’s definitely more reliant on individuals than football is. I enjoy the pressure of going out to bat. Yes i’m playing for a team, but really it’s me vs 11 out there and it’s up to me to stand up and show what I can do. It’s still pretty nerve racking though especially when they are throwing the ball down at a bit of a pace.

I don’t really do much writing or anything anymore, i don’t even know who reads this / if anyone reads this, but it’s nice to get some things off my chest every once in a while, because let’s be fair i’m rarely out and about socialising so how else are people supposed to know what i’m up to in life?!

Bed time. 2.20am.

Video Game High School. So good.

Insomnia 51

Insomnia 51 is literally just around the corner and I am getting excited to hang with friends, compete in CS:GO and play some FIFA too, for those concerned (probably not many of you) cLn. has a site which is very basic and bland at the moment, but updates will come in good time.

This is my new headset which is definitely going to help me listen for those footsteps at A short on de_dust2!

Pro gaming will never be a reality for me unfortunately, but I can at least have fun whilst i am still young. (well, i’m not young young..)

Begun work on a Zombie Survival Novel

I haven’t posted on here in a long time. A lot has happened since my last post, a lot has changed in my life, and a lot has stayed the same. I’m not going to bore you with any details but i will say – A lot of hours at work, a lot of games have been played and a lot of films have been seen.

What i’m writing to say is that work has begun on a DayZ based survival zombie book. I’m unsure as to how long it’ll be, or upon completion, how i will go about releasing it. The plan is to self print the book myself and keep it so it looks cool and awesome. But who actually knows what will happen.

I’ve take a few screenshots for you to look through however. So that’s good!

^^ They can all be found on there, but in case you can’t be bothered to scroll through pages of screenshots here are a couple. My character is black and his name is Benjamin. His memory is completely gone, his stomach is grumbling and his thirst needs quenching. What lies in store for him along the long empty road? Image

The End Of FIFA 13 – The Start Of FIFA 14

At Insomnia 49 i entered the 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments yet again in a bid to place highly and earn some much needed prize money, something which would kind of justify the amount of hours i spent playing the game trying to get good, as well as satisfy my need to achieve.

This happened as i lost a game on ladder which i found hilarious / the guy was a massive dick.

Of course i failed in the 1v1 tournament. This happens every time, although my results were majorly improved, beating Dimitri 5-0, who plays for a pro team, as well as beating CooLage 2-1 after he had recently signed up to a team. Two disappointing 0-0’s, and a last minute 1-0 defeat against unknown players made my game against Dignitas’ own Adam Winster a must win, which i obviously didn’t, i lost 1-0, but considering he is the guy who won $167,000 in Las Vegas in the World FIFA tournament, i can take that and be satisfied with my efforts.

Queue the 2v2 tournament then! It was supposed to be me and Mike Childs in the 2v2 tournament, but he had promised to go with CooLage instead – (they won 2v2 insomnia 48 together which i didnt realise) – and had double booked me, what a douche. (Kidding Mike you’re a lad really) Fortunately my best friends from home Daniel Fern had surprised us all by turning up on the Friday night at Insomnia, he is a great FIFA player and it was a no brainer to partner up with him. In our group we had 2 admins, a Dignitas player teamed up with Ollie (who is on the same gaming team as Dimitri) and crazily enough, Mike and CooLage. We lost our first game 3-1 against Ollie’s team, they were really strong though, and it was mine and Dan’s first game together. We Drew 0-0 vs Mike and CooLage, but beat the admins 4-1, which eventually got us through on goal difference despite a lot of confusion all round – I think it’d been a very long day for Dave and the boys. Anyway, we got through in second, and played against the Dutch national champion and his partner, which we ground a 2-1 victory out (honestly don’t know how). In the semi-finals we were up against Insomnia 48 1v1 winner, and the person who knocked me and Jack Cummins out at insomnia 47, eventually going on to win that tournament. Anyway we had a great game which eventually went to extra time and unfortunately couldn’t take it to penalties losing 2-1. That being said we had a great run and definitely put our names out there.

Finally there was one last qualifying match a few weeks after the tournament had ended which i tried to qualify for, but unfortunately i lost in the semi-finals after a 120th minute corner sank me. Gutted. <– Here is the link to the Bracket.

Overall i would have to say i am proud of my eventual efforts in FIFA 13, i had a lot of down time due to work, but mostly i wanted to hang around with my then girlfriend. I definitely feel as though as I met my own expectations, nothing more, nothing less. The problem i had now was motivating myself to play FIFA 14, and trying to be good all over again.

After my first 3 games of FIFA 14 i said i hated it. It was slow, ugly, movement was horrible, some of the stuff was ridiculously broken, and to be fair i couldn’t get to grips with it. Once i finally overcame that small barrier and i couldn’t stop winning, i suddenly loved every second (shockingly).

My form was great, and after 22 games it read – 17-3-2 (win/draw/loss)

I won every division title on my way up the ladder (besides division 4 i was only promoted)

Although i had lost more games, and drew more, i put this down to playing against better players, that coupled with the fact i was still getting to know the game – and my internet dropping all of the time, it made for the 50-10-15 after 75 games you see there, still not bad, and was enough to put me 749th in seasons 1v1, the highest i had ever been.

Higher? Could i go higher you ask? Well… Yes. Yes i could. I went on to win the Division 1 title with 8 wins in a row after losing my first game, eventually doing what i actually never could do on FIFA 13.

As you can see i eventually placed 159th in the world after that. Which isn’t bad considering it was out of 220,000 people. The top 0.07% in the world (i think.. if my maths is right 159/220,000 x 100 = 0.07)  ?????????????????????????????

Anyway. This was all pre-patch. I have since played 5 games post patch, won 5-0, then lost the rest.. i haven’t been able to pick up Seasons since as i have fallen out with it. It plays horribly and it’s very difficult to score and defend, which makes me bad, fml.

What was the point of this blog ? You may well ask. Well i haven’t updated the website in a looooong time. I even promised a PS VITA review. So here it is. It got boring after 2 weeks and now i’m trying to sell it. There.

Thanks for reading as always i will try and keep posts more regular in the upcoming future 😉

Why no FIFA Videos? / PS Vita

I haven’t really been very active with XboxVids1080. And in my defence neither has Jack!

I recently recorded a whole 10 game season, all with visual commentary from myself. The file magically corrupted by the time it came to edit, leaving just one game, so i thought i might as well delete the whole thing. The way around this for future is to stop and start the recording before each match instead of just letting it run.

The main problem i’m facing is that the content isn’t fresh or exciting.

What can be done? At the moment i’m having FIFA blues.. losing all the time, streamed video isn’t working. waaaa.

On the plus side i have ordered a Playstation Vita. FULL REVIEW SOON! I have Virtua tennis 4, Rayman, and Uncharted to try so i’m sure i will be kept busy! Cannot wait to be honest, it’s my first foray  in to the handheld market since the 2nd generation Nintendo DS, which was great for Pokemon, and not so great for everything else (in my opinion). I’m just hoping more games are released for the VITA, but hopefully it’s going to be a tool to be used in tandem for the PS4 which i will probably be investing in to also.

Game Dev Tycoon

I read a story today about a game called Game Dev Tycoon. They released their own game, and a cracked version of their game on a torrent site on the same day. Whilst 300 people paid for the game, 3700 downloaded the illegal copy. What the people downloading the illegal copy didn’t realise was that you can only get so far in the game before you lose to a piracy bug with-in the game. Pretty clever!

I saw this and though, what a fantastic idea, not only has it become news all over the internet reaching out to thousands of potential customers, it’s a really good idea to give people a trial of your game. We all know that people pirate stuff they are either trialing or not really wanting to buy, so there isn’t really potential sales loss, so it’s just clever business all round.

Although a clear rip-off from Game Dev Story, which is another incredible game. this is extremely addictive and could have you playing for hours. Turned out i did on my stream on – it amassed 110 live viewers by the end, as well bringing in over 1400 unique viewers over this time. I had great fun playing, i think the people on stream enjoyed it too! The only thing wrong was my microphone issues which are continuous, god please fix yourself soon stupid computer!
